All that's left is to wait for the sublime bleakness of a January snowstorm.

Battlestar Galactica Explained
This is probably the funniest minute of TV I've seen this season so far, not counting the Indiana Jones episode of South Park.
Dumbledore Calrissian.

You(th)tube
A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from my friend Kevin, whom I have mentioned here before. He and his students wanted to do a response video to the Don't Vote ad with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and others... I'm sure you've all seen it on the youtubes. Naturally, Kevin called me to help out with it. Liz and I got in gear pretty quickly and spent a Saturday afternoon working with Kevin and his incredible students on this video, which I edited and posted on the youtubes as well. It's only 2 minutes long and absolutely worth your time (if you're not from the United States, here's a small bit of proof that not all of our young people are lazy and self-centered), not because of my awesome cinematographic and editing skills but because of the message.
These kids dedicated themselves over the last few months to helping schools - not just in New York City but across the country - get their eligible students to register to vote. That is an astounding feat in and of itself. The next natural step was to remind those new voters to actually vote. I'm happy that I was able to help them in such a small way by cobbling together this video. It was scripted (and in some cases, ad-libbed) by the students. I'd say that these are real young Americans but they're from New York City and, as we all learned this past week, New York isn't a part of "Real America."
But just know that these young people, all new voters themselves, really stepped up and made a difference.
There are two weeks to go before Election Day. Don't let the youth of America down. Watch this video, pass the message (and the video, if you like it) along, and remember to vote on November 4.
